This app is targeted to the electrical engineer involved in RF/Microwave amplifier design.
QUAMP is a design tool for microwave, small signal, low noise amplifiers. It affords a quick, preliminary investigation of the applicability of a transistor device for an intended use. Device characterization of scattering (S) parameters and/or noise parameters are entered and response over a band of interest is quickly determined. This is accomplished by incorporating the following elements in the program:
1.Classic S parameter design
2.Smith Chart constant gain/noise figure, stability circles, available gain/operating gain descriptions
3.Microstrip parameters characterization
4.Input/output match networks design for microstrip and lumped elements
5.Circuit analysis and response plots of the resulting design
The app is intended to be a practical design tool and while it is also a useful adjunct for the student it is not intended for general didactic use. As such the design and analysis of the bilateral device, in either the Available Gain or the Operating Gain mode, is the area of interest.
